Student stories

Nachi is situated to the right of the image, she's laughing and looking towards the camera. In her right hand is a latte coffee. She's sitting on a brown leather seat with another brown leather seat on her right that's empty. There's a bench in the background with a record player sitting on top. There's a vase with flowers. She wears a black leather jacket and t-shirt. Nachi's hair is down and pulled to the front.

I was drawn to Australia because of the country’s beautiful weather, stunning natural environment, and friendly and welcoming people. Read my story

Student Pedro is on the right of the photo. He's positioned on an angle and he smiles to the distance. The lighting is dim and moody. A soft yellow light comes from the right of the image, lighting up the side of Pedro. He wears a brown shirt, he has black hair hair, brown eyes and a black beard.

Before coming to Australia, I completed an advanced diploma in digital animation, and wanted to further my studies to get into the digital market workforce with ease. I didn’t want to go to university, but rather study in a more practical environment, being assessed on real workplace skills needed in the industry. Imagine my luck when I found TAFE. The staff and students are friendly, and willing to assist me when I ask them.

Zaki is the centre of the image. She wears shorts and a t-shirt. She smiles towards the camera. In the background is a few electric scooters, lots of big green trees and North Metropolitan campus. The pavement is colourful with red, blue and yellow squares.

I love Perth so much! I think after graduation, I will be freelance in this industry in Australia and probably Japan, too. I can choose my work style.
